IN THE GOLD FLOOD OF LIGHT WHERE THE EARTH MEETS THE SUMMER SKIES

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.. "
- Genesis 1:1

At 12 am on Friday night we started our adventure. We drove 3 hours and reached the edge of the lava field at 4 am. After two hours of hiking across the lava desert we reached the location where molten lava pours into the ocean. It is the most amazing sight I have ever seen and I am sure I will never see anything quite like it again. Lava was flowing on one side and the sunrise on the other it was truly a masterpiece. God is amazing.
As a joke, we roasted marshmallows on some cracks in the Lava - just to say that we did. We didn't eat them because of the sulfur.

After enjoying our time at the Lava field we drove over to the Southern most point of the united states. There is a 40 foot cliff people like to jump off. It also has a breathtaking view. From South Point we walked 1 hour to Green Sands beach. This is one of my favorite beaches here on Island. The sand is literally an olive great color.. its incredible.

The best part of this weekend was that I spent it with two of my best friends. Its one thing to see these awe inspiring things but to share those experiences with others is so special.

PHOTOGENX - Week 4

This week was corporate week. This is where the students from all the DTS schools on campus gather together to worship as hear teaching together. Dan Bowman was our speaker this week and really challenged us on intimacy with the Lord. He shared his testimony and stories of how God has proved himself faithful in his life. One of which was his personal story about being imprisoned in Iran. It was an amazing time of hearing about Gods goodness and faithfulness. It was really amazing to see so many young people excited about Jesus! Across the whole room young brothers and sisters in Christ were praying for one another and encouraging each other. It is such a blessing to be a part of and I am so thankful to be here for this season.

One thing that challenged me this week was how I view my relationship with the Lord. So often my relationship with God is like a list:
1.God
2.Family
3.Ministry
4.Job etc.
Once I complete the "first task" I can get on with my day. Instead we were challenged to change our thinking. God should be the center and everything stems out of our relationship with Him. God is the center. I have seen this diagram before but it was just a good reminder that God wants to be a part of everything.

Thank you again for your prayers and support I feel so blessed.
